of my silver VFR800, I'd often heard these were a match for the NC30 VFR400s and wanted something
a bit lighter as my confidence had taken a dent losing the VFR800. This one was immaculate, something
ridiculous like 5000km on the clock, despite being 8 years' old and a true gem amongst pocket rockets.
The riding position was quite cramped after the big VFR but a lot more nimble in London traffic due to
weighing about 50kg less. Great handling, and a screaming engine (gear-driven cams again) I got stopped
by plod on an ST1100 for speeding and undertaking on the A3. Result? Speeding fine, 3 points, hacked off
with commuting in general, convinced it was an omen - the day was Friday 13th June after all - I sold
the little beauty to some spotty Brummy lad who'd just passed his test. And its been a wilderness since
then, I'm afraid.
